Industrial employment in Slovakia

The Industrial employment of Slovakia increased by 3.5% in March this year. In industry, the employment is rising steadily from September 2013 onwards.

As a result of data published by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic, in the third month of this year, the employment grew by 7.3% year-on-year in transport and storage, sales and repair of motor vehicles by 6.4%, in information and communication activities by 6 , 1%, in the selected market services by 5.4%, in restaurants and hospitality activities by 5.1%, in hotels by 4.6%, in retail trade by 4.4%, in construction by 2.3% and in wholesale by 1.6%.

On average, over the three months of this year, compared to the same period of 2017, the employment in information and communication activities grew by 9.4%, in transport and storage by 9.3%, in sales and repair of motor vehicles by 7.5%, in restaurants and hospitality activities by 6.5%,  in the selected market services by 5.2%, in the industry by 4.2% and retail trade by 3.5%. In the  construction and accommodation, the employment from  January to March increased year-on-year by 2.8% and in the wholesale by 1%.
